Day 01: Arrival / Kochi
Our tour representative will welcome on as you will reach to the
Kochi International Airport on the 1st day 1 of Butterfly Week Tour
Itinerary with India Tours Catalogue. Your tour representative will
then further assist you to check in a hotel in Kochi. Meet the Ornithologist
/ Lepidopterist who will assist you and give you an overview of
the butterfly spotting trip. Take you dinner and stay overnight
at the hotel in Kochi in Kerala, South India.
Day 02: Kochi / Thattekkad
Have an early breakfast on the 2nd day of Butterfly Week Tour Itinerary.
Then, take a drive to Thattekkad in Kerala. Thattekkad is truly
a pure butterfly country. You can spot here all sorts of butterfly
species such as the Paris Peacock, Malabar Rose, Tamil Catseye,
Gladeye Bushbrown, Blue Mormon, Whitebar Bushbrown, Red Pierrot,
Malabar Raven and many others. Have your dinner and stay overnight
at the Estate Bungalow or local camp in Thattekkad.
Day 03: Thattekkad / Munnar
The Butterfly Week Tour Itinerary also comprises of a drive to Thattekkad
in afternoon. You can continue with your drive to Munnar in Kerala,
South India. On the route, you can take a tour to the Rajamalai
wildlife sanctuary. See the enchanting fauna here, including the
endangered Nilgiri Tahr.
This side of Kerala is a natural habitat to various species of
butterfly such as the Indian Cabbage White, Red Helen, Common Jezebel,
Bluebottle, Tailed Jay, Red Disk Bushbrown, Palni Four Ring, Giant
Orange Tip, Nilgiri Tiger, and more. Spend your time with beautiful
butterflies and come back for Dinner and overnight stay at the resort
in Munnar.
Day 04: Munnar / Chinnar / Munnar
On the 4th day of the Butterfly Week Tour Itinerary, you will enjoy
your breakfast early in the morning. Then take a drive to Chinnar
Wildlife Sanctuary. It hosts a large population of butterflies in
the deciduous and dense forests. The forests are very lush because
they lie in rain shadow region of Western Ghats.
Enjoy your butterfly tours in the region as you will spot species
like Great Eggfly, Yellow Pansy, Blue Pansy, Tamil Lacewing, Malabar
Banded Swallowtail, Fivebar Swordtail, Southern Duffer Cruise, Travencore
Evening Brown, and many other species. Return to the Munnar hotel.
Take your dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 05: Munnar / Periyar
On the 5th day of the Butterfly Week Tour Itinerary, you can relax
during the morning. Later in the day set out for a drive to Periyar
in Kerala, South India. Reach to Periyar. Here the tour representative
will help you to check in the forest lodge. In the evening, you
can go out for the butterfly tour to the forests and gardens close
by.
Periyar nestles a rich population of butterfly. There are all chances
for you to see various species of butterflies, like the Paris Peacock,
Malabar Rose, Gladeye Bushbrown, Blue Mormon, Red Pierrot, Whitebar
Bushbrown, Clipper, Malabar Raven, Tamil Catseye and all others.
Overnight stay at the forest lodge in Periyar.
Day 06: Periyar
Early in the morning of the 6th day of Butterfly Week Tour Itinerary,
you can take trip to see butterflies along the bank of lakes and
streams in Periyar. You can take short treks to the Periyar forest.
Here you will definitely see some extraordinary butterflies. Stay
overnight at the forest lodge in Periyar.
Day 07: Periyar / Kochi
On the 7th and the last day of the Butterfly Week Tour Itinerary
with India Tour Catalogue, your tour guide will arrange for you
to return back to Kochi. Here, you will onboard your flight to your
home destination.
